Lots of us shiver at the thought of leaving our hammocks, grabbing our bags and returning home, even if it is just for a trip to see the loved ones before you jet back off. Sure, we are excited, but we know we would really rather be ordering another long island iced tea for $2 than sitting on a 17hour flight home.
We all know that life back at home will never really be the same again after you have been travelling. So here are my top ten struggles every traveller faces after living the nomad life!
1. Nothing has changed! This will be expected a little but it can be pretty frustrating! You will feel like travel has changed you in great ways!
2. Conversations are really boring!
3. You will become amazed with own currency back at home for a little while!
4. You are always reminded of why you left your home town in the first place!
5. You will compare everything! You will have so many different experiences when you travel so it’s hard not to compare food, weather and prices when you return home!
6. Everything will either seem very cheap or extremely expensive! If you have been travelling around Asia then somewhere like England will seem really expensive!
7. You never thought you would get bored of talking about your travels! Everyone asks you: What was your favourite country? What was the best bit!? Tell me about it!
8. Most of your friends have moved on! Home just isn’t the same anymore!
9. You will return back to your family home full of pointless things!
10. You realise quickly that you want to leave because the travel bug kicks in!
What were some of your struggles?
