A tiny historical town just 20 minutes from Auckland provides visitors with a great day out from the busy city! We recently spent a morning wandering the town, taking in the sights and sounds and dined on some breakfast! Just jump on the boat or even drive to Devonport to save some money!
There may not be a lot to do, but that’s not the reason you visit Devonport. Being a seaside town, it’s great to visit in summer to laze by the water or sit outside one of the many little cafe’s by the water. In winter, make sure you wrap up warm because even if the sun is out, the wind can really send a chill down your spine. Devonport is a really nice day trip out of Auckland, just make sure you take your camera! It really is a picture perfect little town!
Try walking up Mt Victoria, don’t worry, it’s not too challenging! You will be rewarded with an absolutely stunning view of Auckland’s skyline and you can also check out the old WWII bunkers and PA-10 rifles!
Devonport is a great place to escape city life, whether you decide to laze on the beach in summer or climb Mt Victoria for a killer travel snap in winter! Everyone should visit this pretty town!
